About Wendy Davies

MA (Counselling Psychology)

I am an individual & couples therapist specializing in relationships, anxiety, and trauma.

My goal as a therapist is to help my clients to get from a place of feeling stuck, unsatisfied, and unfulfilled into a life of connectedness and meaning. I want to help you break the cycle of ‘I will be happy when…..’ to find joy in the process of self-discovery, positive change, and possibilities.

It takes a lot of bravery to admit that what is happening right now isn’t working and that it’s time to reach out for help. I get it, I have been there too, and I aim to be the person I needed in those moments for my clients. I do not take this responsibility lightly.

If you feel like you know something needs to change, but you are not sure exactly what, I am here to help not only with specialized training but lived personal experience.

The way that we see the world and the way we see ourselves is all based on relationships.

My therapeutic practice is relationship focused, I truly believe that when we look closely at our depression or anxiety symptoms, they are almost always rooted in relationships – including early childhood relationships. Our relationships shape our world, and part of healing is relating to our individual experiences within these relationships. We have the power to change the narrative and create our own story so that we can move forward feeling healthier and happier.

Many couples come to me because they have lost that connection to each other that they once had; there is a lack of communication and yet a strong desire to get back to the place where they feel that familiar spark. My approach to relationship repair is heavily influenced by the Gottman Institute and includes effective communication, boundary setting, and mindfulness. Together we can repair the relationship fractures and get you back on the same page if that is your goal.

I believe in the tools I use as a therapist because they get to the root cause of the problem and create lasting change.

My approach is person-centred and unique to each individual and the best hopes for their life and relationships. I am certified in various modalities, including The Gottman Method, which has nearly 40 years of research in relationship longevity. My other qualifications include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and EMDR, which effectively treat depression, anxiety and trauma.

I view therapy as a collaborative and holistic process; together, we get to the root of the problem, what is driving it, and what will be the most effective way to create change. Helping people overcome their depression, anxiety, and trauma is what I am meant to do; even from a young age, I have been where people go to feel understood and supported.

You don’t need to struggle alone, I am here to offer you the person-centred support you need, with a gentle dose of humour.

My office is a safe, non-judgmental space for my clients to speak freely and explore even their darkest thoughts and beliefs. I do not want to lead the therapeutic process, I want to be the flashlight that guides the way. I believe that every person has the strength within themselves to heal and create the change they are looking for. I promise to offer flexible, honest, and approachable support, so my clients feel comfortable as they navigate their healing journey.

I want to help build better communities by elevating each member within them.
