Cassie Seguin

Registered Provisional Psychologist

I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist who works with adults and couples to navigate life and relationship challenges.

I understand that the thought of starting therapy can stir feelings of anxiousness, especially if you are starting your therapeutic journey for the first time or have navigated therapy before and need to switch therapist. It is understandable that you would be wary about not knowing what to expect, whether the fit with your therapist will be there, or if this time around will be effective or beneficial. These feelings are valid and normal, and I am honoured to be a part of your mental health journey, should you feel like I am a good fit for you and your mental health needs.

Whatever your starting point is, I will meet you where you are at and we will map out a plan for therapy to meet your mental health goals. If you feel like something needs to change but aren’t sure what that is, I will help you explore and navigate this uncertain time in your life. Together, we will navigate your mental health and well-being at your pace and comfort level.

I work specifically with adults and couples who are navigating concerns which are impacting their mental health and well-being including anger, stress, unhealthy coping habits, lack of boundaries, divorce or separation, self-harm, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, improving communication, relational conflicts, etc.

“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us” – J. R. R. Tolkien.

I encourage my clients to show up as themselves and not who they think they need to be. We will be learning and uncovering things together, and this is easier to do when you and I are both authentic to who we are. Therapy can be uncomfortable and sometimes messy, but I believe the short-term discomfort is worth it for the long-term benefits.

I incorporate an eclectic style to therapy and will utilize various therapeutic interventions tailored to your needs.

I am trained in several therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, and the Gottman Method. I will also integrate techniques such as strength-based, person-centered, and solution-focused therapy into our sessions.

I don’t believe here is a one size fits all approach to therapy. Therefore, we will organize your needs and goals, and choose the most effective therapeutic options for you.

I am a lifelong learner and continue to improve my knowledge, experience, and skills through additional training, keeping up with research, and consulting with my colleagues and supervisor. I am committed to bringing my best self as a therapist into the room with you.

I believe that small intentional changes can make a difference and can lead to better outcomes over time.

I am committed to offering a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment for my clients to be open and explore vulnerable issues, facilitate self-awareness, heal from past emotional wounds, establish new and healthier coping skills and strategies, overcome challenges, and improve their overall mental health and well-being.

My personal and professional experiences and witnessing improvements in others has facilitated my deep interest in helping and supporting others in this field. My goal for my clients is to enhance their growth towards their best selves and living their best lives. It is a privilege to walk alongside you on this therapeutic journey and to witness your progress.
